Apple is launching an augmented actuality gadget this yr

We have been hearing rumors for some time that Apple could be working on its own smart glasses based on Augmented Reality (AR). In fact, it has even been suggested that such a device could hit the market as early as this year, which analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reiterated in his latest report to investors.

According to Kuo, he believes Apple will launch an augmented reality device in 2021. While it doesn't specifically state that these are the rumored smart glasses we've heard of, it's hard to imagine what else it could mean. The introduction of AR glasses would indeed be a bold move for Apple.

This is because in the past AR glasses were only introduced to fall flat. When Google launched the Google glasses, there was a lot of hype, but it ultimately failed. We're not sure if the world is advanced enough to better support this type of technology. Hence, it would indeed be quite a risk to the company.

It has been suggested that the first models of Apple Smart Glasses were heavily dependent on the iPhone for connectivity and rendering capabilities, mainly acting as a display. While Kuo is generally accurate with its predictions, it should still be taken with a grain of salt for the time being.
