Apple's personal 29W charger doesn't work with the MagSafe Duo

Not that long ago, Apple announced that the MagSafe Duo charger is now available for purchase. The charger itself costs $ 130, which is quite expensive considering the cost. However, it seems that customers may have to pay more for a compatible charger to use it.

This is because Apple recently confirmed that its 29W charger would not work with the MagSafe Duo. Instead, customers will have to use a different charger, like the 30W model or the 20W model, which luckily at $ 19 isn't too expensive to buy, although it may seem unnecessary to some.

According to Apple, this is because of the MagSafe Duo specifications, which require an adapter that supports USB Power Delivery 3.0, which the 29W model does not have. The 29W model was replaced by the 30W model back in 2018, which also suggests that older charging adapters may not work well with the MagSafe Duo either.

We envision there will be quite a number of people getting upset about this, especially since chargers are not really what many of us consider an "upgrade." We're not sure how many people have the 29W model lying around, but it might be cause for thought when considering getting your hands on the MagSafe Duo.
