DraftKings Picks Week 16: NFL DFS Lineup Ideas for Day by day Fantasy Soccer Tournaments
With only one week left in most year-long fantasy seasons, there's a good chance you'll be eliminated from your league's playoff race. The good news is that there are still plenty of NFL DFS competitions to be enjoyed in the last two weeks of the NFL regular season. This week's Sunday appointment is a little easier for games than it has been in previous weeks, but we've still found some great tips for our DraftKings week 16 tournament roster.
For the first time in a few weeks, the RB spot on the DFS board is only in the middle of the street. Multiple injuries and top backs played on Saturday or prime time eliminated some of the top games there, so we're only spending on one RB seat. Our two other RBs are in the average to cheap price range, although we stack our Flex RB with our QB. This stack will help us achieve some serious lineup differentiation and it has also enabled us to spend money at WR. This week's recipient list is pretty top heavy. So if you have some players who might bounce, this lineup has a high cap.
16th WEEK STANDARD RANKING:
Quarterback | Run back | Wide receiver | Narrow end | D / ST | Kicker
The matchups we targeted for the receiver seat included the Falcons and Seahawks, while the Jaguars and Texans Run Defense are still units we want to take advantage of. We've also added a second, more traditional stack type – an RB paired with a D / ST unit – that could quickly pay off if the Washington-Carolina game script goes as we hope it will.
WEEK 16 PPR RANKING:
Quarterback | Run back | Wide receiver | Narrow end | D / ST | Kicker
This list is intended for the main tournaments of DraftKings week 16.
QB Ryan Finley, Bengals @ Texans ($ 4,800)
Finley is the cheapest quarterback on the line. GPP formats are well worth investing in at QB and Finley actually has some advantages in this matchup. He just did a good job launching a methodical attack on the Steelers. Yes, he only threw 87 yards, but he added a TD through the air. More importantly, the Bengals gave the Steelers lots of zoned glances, and Finley was able to crawl 47 yards on a TD. Finley's mobility could cause some problems for the Texans, and even if he can't score locally, the Texans have allowed QBs the eighth most yards and the eighth most TDs this year. Finley's overall uptrend is pretty high given his price below $ 5,000, and if we spend that low we can move up to the other skill positions on our lineup.
RB David Montgomery, Bears @ Jaguars ($ 7,700)
Montgomery has earned at least 27.1 DraftKings points for four consecutive weeks. He has a total of six TDs in that time span and dwarfed 100 scrimmage yards in each game. Week 16 will see the bears compete against the jaguars, a team that has awarded RBs the fourth highest DK points this year. Expect the bears to keep feeding Montgomery, and if he can have another 30-touch game like he played against the Vikings, he should have a big day ahead of him.
WEEK 16 DFS TOURNAMENT LINEUPS: FanDuel
RB J. D. McKissic, Washington v Panthers ($ 6,400)
Antonio Gibson (Toe) status is still unknown, but even if he does return McKissic will still be a good game as his PPR has an advantage in DraftKings' scoring system. McKissic has had double-digit DK results in five of his last seven games, and he had 9.9 DK points in one of his two sub-10 games. As of week 9, McKissic has averaged 8.4 goals per game and should continue to see a lot of work as a receiver. McKissic has also been productive regardless of the quarterback. Alex Smith loves to target him, but Dwayne Haskins only helped him hit a season high of 25.7 DK points against the Seahawks. McKissic should do well against a Panthers defense that has awarded RBs the fifth most DK points and fifth most receptions (82) this year.
WR Tyreek Hill, Chiefs vs Falcons ($ 9,000)
The Falcons are about to overtake the Seahawks for the lead in the coveted "Most DK Points WRs Allowed" race. Atlanta allowed 45.7 DK points per game for the position (Seattle, 47.1), and that includes a whopping 2,871 yards in 14 games. For those who score at home, that's more than 200 meters per wideout per competition. Hill has been one of fantasy football's most consistent pass catchers this year, catching a TD in 11 out of 14 games. He should have a chance to rip the falcons' leaking secondary as they have no one who has the speed to cover him. Hill has seven games with at least 20 DK points and posted a ridiculous 60.9 against Tampa Bay a few weeks ago. Its high ceiling and relatively high floor give this line-up some pop, so it's well worth spending your money on.
WEEK 16 DFS CASH LINEUPS: DraftKings | FanDuel
WR Robert Woods, Rams @ Seahawks ($ 7,000)
The Seahawks have allowed WRs to take 2,957 yards of WRs this year, along with 255 catches, 27 more than the second highest total. The last time they played the Rams, Cooper Kupp, Woods, and Josh Reynolds played 177 yards together, with Reynolds surprisingly taking the lead. It will be difficult for the Seahawks to keep Kupp and Woods in check again, so we'll be rolling with Woods as a potential top game in this game. Woods has scored at least 15.8 DK points in four of his last five games, averaging 10.8 goals and eight catches per game during that time. If Jared Goff keeps looking in his direction, Woods should be able to destroy the Seahawks and make life difficult for their Seconaries. Kupp is a little cheaper, but the floor is higher for Woods.
WR Jerry Jeudy, Broncos @ Chargers ($ 3,700)
Here is one of the biggest risks to our tournament roster. Jeudy has only four catches in his last four games and only three double-digit DK points since week 6. However, Jeudy has still averaged 7.6 goals per game since week 8 if you rule out his one-target game at Kendall, Hinton started for the Broncos, so Drew Lock hasn't given up on throwing himself at him. The last time Jeudy faced the Chargers he got four passes for 73 yards and that kind of hit would be a nice buoy for that lineup. At less than $ 4,000, Jeudy is a great bargain option that could well outperform its prices.
TE Austin Hooper, Browns @ Jets ($ 3,500)
The Jets have admitted an NFL-high 926 yards and 13 TDs to TEs this year. Hooper scored his second highest goal of the season (6) against the Giants, scoring five passes for 41 yards and a TD. With Baker Mayfield in the thick of it, it seems like a great move to trust Hooper in this superb matchup as he could easily make it into the top 5 for a low price this week.
FLEX Giovani Bernard, Bengals @ Texans ($ 4,800)
Bernard absolutely toasted the Steelers defense for 97 yards and two TDs on 26 touches. The performance was a shock, considering how Bernard had been going over the past few weeks. The Texans have admitted an NFL high of 1,916 rushing yards to RBs and are allowed to the league high in rushing TDs (17). They have also given the seventh most common shipyards to RBs (615). Bernard should take advantage of this easily, and if he can get some passes from Ryan Finley we have a nice cheap contrarian stack that could pay off and give us some line-up differentiation.
D / ST Washington Football Team v Panthers ($ 3,000)
Washington has 40 sacks this season, and the Panthers are facing a battered offensive line that has allowed Teddy Bridgewater to be sacked seven times in the last couple of games. These were against the Broncos and Packers, both teams that don't generate as much pressure as Washington. Bridgewater and Co. could have problems with that defense, and Washington has a high ceiling and a high sack floor. So we're going to take them over here for the median price of $ 3,000.
