Gross, but great: My No. 1 product for shedding dead, dull skin cells

Failure to treat dry, dead skin can lead to bothersome problems. I’m talking about clogged pores, breakouts, dull skin, and a flaky or rough texture. Doesn’t sound good, does it? The thing is, this can be easily avoided and fixed.

Enter the scrub. It can refresh dull skin and make your face look smooth and glowing. It’s especially important as you get older as it stimulates new cell growth. The good news and bad news is that there are so many different types of exfoliators. So you have variety, but deciding which one to choose can take some time.

There are mechanical peels like scrubs that will peel off dead skin when you massage it gently into your skin. And then there are chemical peels, which usually contain acids like alpha-hydroxy (glycolic and lactic acids), beta-hydroxy (salicylic acid), and polyhydroxy.
