My 62 yr previous mother credit this low-cost face cream for her wrinkle-free complexion

If you know me, or are following my beauty reflections here on Who What Wear, you may have noticed that I've become a reluctant anti-antiaging crusader. It's not that I'm against the products and practices that promote healthy, glowing skin, but I just think the youth obsession that has gripped our society is insane. Not only is it impossible to expect women to defy nature by not showing natural signs of age, but sending that we are only beautiful to the point where fine lines or wrinkles appear is an extremely problematic message .

While I will always advocate more realistic and less exploitative conversations about aging, I, like anyone else, recognize the appeal of a skin care regimen to keep our epidermis in tip-top shape, starting with a good moisturizer. So I'm going to get out of my soap box for a brief second to scream at my mom Gerri, who has only a half-wrinkle on her face at 62 (a single line between her eyebrows, was probably born around the time of my rebellious teenage years). In fact, I dare say mom looks about 20 years younger than her. Cool? Yes! A measure of their worth in this world? Absolutely not!
