Rays & # 39; Arozarena arrested in Yucatan state
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Randy Arozarena has been arrested in the Mexican state of Yucatan on alleged domestic violence.
The Yucatan Prosecutor's Office confirmed on Tuesday that Arozarena was being detained "for problems with his ex-partner."
He has not yet been officially charged. Under Mexican law, prosecutors can decide within two days whether to bring charges. Usually, suspects are held in prison pending decision.
Major League Baseball is investigating the matter, a source told ESPN's Jeff Passan
Arozarena did not make a public comment and it was not clear if he still had a lawyer.
Arozarena scored .377 with 10 homers and 14 RBIs in 20 postseason games for Tampa Bay. He was named the MVP of the AL Championship Series.
