Revised Apple TV is anticipated in 2021

The last time Apple brought out Apple TV was in 2017, when the model finally offered support for 4K content. The company hasn't updated the model since, but that could change in 2021, according to a report from Bloomberg claiming that a new, redesigned Apple TV could hit the market next year.

According to the report, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman announced that the new Apple TV will appear to have an updated remote control and processor, and will also focus more on gaming. With the last Apple TV, Apple highlighted the device's gaming capabilities, and with the launch of Apple Arcade since then, that's not really a surprise.

Despite these changes, Gurman is somewhat skeptical of Apple's plans, where he suggests that this could fix some of the current issues with Apple TV, but it doesn't necessarily have to be a long-term solution and that Apple may need to reduce the price of the device if they do want to stay competitive.

It's unclear which chipset the new Apple TV could use. Currently, the iPhone 12 is powered by the new A14 chipset, so there's a chance the new Apple TV will use the A14 or a variant of it. In any case, we'll have to wait until 2021 to find out. So take it with a grain of salt for now.
