Spotify searching for an Affiliate Director to steer actions within the Libra Challenge and different crypto endeavors

The world's largest music streaming service is looking for a new deputy director to lead its activities under the Libra Stablecoin project, recently renamed Diem.

According to an announcement, Spotify is seeking an associate director to join its payments strategy and innovation team.

The winning candidate will be responsible for defining the streaming giant’s global payments strategy, in which, according to the announcement, he will “evaluate the payments landscape” and “lead his daily engagement with the Libra Association”.

The candidate will also drive “new opportunities and innovations” in terms of distributed ledger technologies, blockchains, cryptocurrencies, stable coins, central bank digital currencies and other digital assets, according to the announcement.

In addition, the person in charge will also be responsible for Spotify's global presence, where they will look for innovations in payments worldwide, as well as new regulatory and market trends.

Spotify is a member of the 27-strong Diem Association (formerly Libra) and stands alongside big names like Uber, Coinbase and Shopify.

The hiring plans build on the company's foray into the industry, which began in 2017, when the music streaming giant acquired blockchain startup Mediachain Labs, which allows developers to attach information to projects.

According to the announcement, the role will be located in the offices of the streaming giant in London or Stockholm and at other company locations "if this is practical".
