Week 6 Fantasy Soccer Quarterback Leaderboard
Fantasy football owners lose two major quarterbacks (Drew Brees, Russell Wilson) to goodbye this week, but things could have been worse – Cam Newton was originally supposed to be out this week as well. Now it will be Justin Herbert to join Brees, Wilson, and Derek Carr on the sidelines, and with Matthew Stafford and Aaron Rodgers returning – and a host of sleepers with cheap matchups – our week 6 fantasy QB rankings are still full of great options.
Ben Roethlisberger (v Browns), Kirk Cousins (v Falcons), Matthew Stafford (@ Jaguars), Gardner Minshew (v Lions), Andy Dalton (v Cardinals), Ryan Fitzpatrick (v Jets), Daniel Jones (Washington) and Ryan Tannehill (Texans) are usually backups, but they're all in good places this week. Most are still in the start / sit bubble because so many top players have cheap matchups too, but if you need to turn to one of these players, you can be comfortable using them. Roethlisberger, Cousins and Stafford are all in our top 12.
Carson Wentz (v Ravens), Joe Burrow (@ Colts) and Baker Mayfield (@ Steelers) are the biggest fallers, though teams are unlikely to expect any of them on a weekly basis. Teddy Bridgewater (versus Bears) has been hot for the past few weeks, but a tough matchup takes him further down too.
One of the tougher calls this week is Matt Ryan given his recent bouts and Julio Jones' hamstring injury. The Vikings aren't a particularly worrying defense, but one might wonder if Ryan's cap is lower than we think. We'll trust him for another week in our top 10 because of the matchup, but with all of the legitimate sleepers / streamers outlined above, sitting him down this week wouldn't be crazy if you have another high-upside option.
Many owners will also be reluctant to trust Dalton (versus Cardinals), who will take over Dak Prescott (Ankle) for the remainder of the season. Dalton is still a capable quarterback, who he proved last week with a 9-of-11 win for 111 yards to Prescott's relief. Given the talented sideline cast of the cowboys, he plays a lot in cheap matchups. He has as many advantages as people like Cousins, Minshew, and Fitzpatrick.
Note: Check back throughout the week as we will keep updating our QB rankings based on the latest news and injury updates until kickoff.
