Will.i.am presents a futuristic face mask with HEPA filters
Based on what we know about the coronavirus and the vaccines, there is a good chance that wearing masks could be something we will have to practice in the years to come. So much so that companies are gradually finding more environmentally friendly solutions than the disposable masks common today.
Will.i.am is one of those people into those kinds of wearables, and he teamed up with Honeywell to create the Xupermask. To the stranger, Will.i.am is probably best known as a singer and member of the Black Eyed Peas musical group, despite having tried his hand at tech in the past with devices like headphones and smartwatches.
The Xupermask is a mask with integrated 3-speed fans, a set of HEPA filters and headphones with active noise cancellation. There’s also a microphone, LED daylights, Bluetooth connectivity, and 7-hour battery life, all of which are available for a very cool $ 299 when they go on sale later this year.
It sounds a bit outrageous, but like I said, there are other companies out there that are dealing with similar products. Razer, who unveiled its smart mask at CES earlier this year, recently announced that it has plans to make its mask a reality.
